Malawian giants Nyasa Big Bullets have agreed to pay Ronald Chitiyo his outstanding dues after FIFA imposed sanctions on the club.

FIFA handed Bullets a transfer ban June following a contract dispute with Chitiyo. The sanction was enforced after the club failed to pay the Zimbabwean midfielder US$15,200 in compensation for terminating his contract without following due process.

Bullets were given 45 days to settle the amount but failed to meet the deadline, resulting in the sanctions coming into effect in September.

With the January transfer window now open, Bullets are reportedly working on paying the outstanding amount to Chitiyo, according to Malawi Times.

Chitiyo, who is now playing for Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Green Fuel FC, was released after just one season despite having signed a three-year contract on April 2, 2024.

He was released alongside fellow Zimbabweans Collins Mujuru and Kenneth Pasuwa, the son of coach Kalisto Pasuwa, who left the club following the expiry of his contract.
