New Scottland FC coach Norman Mapeza has reportedly blocked the club executive’s move to re-sign midfielder Denver Mukamba ahead of the new season.
Mukamba’s return to Scottland had been in motion after the club’s president, Scott Sakupwanya, publicly declared his interest in bringing the player back late last year.
The midfielder was one of the key players who helped Mabviravira gain promotion to the Premier Soccer League but was released at the end of his contract in December 2024.
The 33-year-old spent six months without a club before rejoining Dynamos in July 2025 as a mid-season signing.
Speaking in November, Sakupwanya told the club media: “In the coming pre-season, we have to get Denver. He should return to Scottland by all means. Even if Denver doesn’t play full minutes, the little time you give him, he makes an impact. When we faced Dynamos, I wasn’t worried about any other player, only Denver, because I knew he could cause us a lot of problems.”
However, Mapeza, who was appointed last month, is said to have refused to approve the midfielder’s return.
Meanwhile, Scottland have signed Isaskar Gurirab and Emmanuel Ziocha from Simba Bhora, with more signings expected to be confirmed during pre-season.
