Senegal were crowned the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winners after beating hosts Morocco 1-0 in the final played at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Sunday.
Pape Gueye scored the solitary goal in the fourth minute of extra time following a well-worked move.
Earlier, there was a brief interruption when Senegal walked off in protest against a stoppage-time penalty awarded to Morocco at the very end of the regulation 90 minutes.
The victory marked Senegal’s second AFCON triumph, with their first coming in 2022, when they beat Egypt.
