Marshall Munetsi has explained the reason that pushed him to join French Ligue 1 side Paris FC.

Munetsi joined the club on a six-month loan from EPL side Wolves. He was wanted by at least three French clubs but eventually opted for Paris FC, marking his return to the league.

Speaking in an interview with Paris FC media, Munetsi said: “I’m very happy to be here. I found a club where there are many players I already know, and I think that helped a lot because we already had some connections. I really liked the project. Even when I arrived here, I had many discussions with the coach, and for me it’s mainly about trying to help the club stay in Ligue 1 and to have a strong second half of the season.

“There are many players I’ve played with before. They talked to me and told me that it’s a very good club and that they are trying to achieve great things. First of all, there are the players — Ilan, Mustapha, Mathieu, Cafaro, and many others.”

He added: “For me, playing here in Paris is also something special because I’ve already played here before, especially against PSG. For me, it was also a dream to try to do something exceptional.

“I find the coach very kind, and his ideas are very clear. That’s why this project really interests me, because there is the sporting aspect but also the human aspect. We had very good discussions with him.

“Here, it really feels a bit like Africa, because there are many players who have played in Africa. It’s very important for me to stay connected with the players. I’ve already watched many matches, and I think we will complement each other very well. For me, football is important, but beyond football, there are relationships — you have to be connected with your teammates.”
