Lady Du confirms romance with DJ Kashief as they live and work together
Amapiano star and businesswoman Dudu “Lady Du” Ngwenya is officially off the market again, having found love with Afro House DJ Kashief, formerly known as DJ Hectic.
Kashief, who has spent nearly a decade in the music industry, plays multiple roles in Lady Du’s life.
Beyond being her romantic partner, he also works closely with her as her road manager and performance DJ, making them both a personal and professional team.
According to a close friend of the couple, their relationship has been steady and serious for some time now.
“They live together, and they work together. He is a quiet guy, a very great person. With her bold personality, I guess they are a balance,” the source shared, adding that the pair have been dating for over a year.
Lady Du recently gave fans a glimpse into their relationship when she celebrated Kashief’s birthday, surprising him with gifts and a white calendar cake, a gesture that quietly confirmed their romance.
The new relationship comes years after Lady Du’s highly publicised split from Isibaya actor Andile Mxakaza, whom she was previously engaged to.
At the time, the former couple released a joint statement explaining their decision to part ways before things turned sour.
“I am not one for gossip; it bores me. This is from my heart. We did not break up; we followed our hearts, and that meant separating before things went south,” Lady Du said then.
She revealed that the relationship ended in 2021, explaining that they ultimately wanted different things.
“So we are both happy with the decision, and we ask that you kindly respect it. It hasn’t affected any of us. Let it not affect you or make you sad.”
Following the breakup, Andile also spoke out, blaming outside interference for the strain on their relationship.
“Love is love; people break up if there are problems,” he said, while accusing unnamed individuals of meddling and making life difficult for the couple.
