The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has celebrated Tawanda Maswanhise’s goal at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations in a glowing post.
Maswanhise scored a stunning goal in the final Group B match against South Africa. He beat four markers before slotting the ball past Ronwen Williams to equalise.
Posting on X, the continental body reminisced about the goal, captioning it: “Pause your feed. Maswanhise did that.”

Maswanhise was also heavily involved in the Warriors’ second goal, which resulted in an own goal by Bafana Bafana defender Aubrey Modiba.
The Motherwell forward only started that match, having made a cameo appearance against Egypt. He was an unused substitute in the game against Angola.
His performance against South Africa heavily influenced his selection among the promising talents at the 2025 AFCON.
