Reading FC coach Liam Richardson has suggested that Andy Rinomhota is not yet ready to start playing for the senior team.

Rinomhota spent two months without playing due to personal reasons.

He made his return to action last week after featuring for 45 minutes for the Reading U21s against Stoke City U21s last Saturday.

Richardson told The Reading Chronicle that the midfielder would have to “bide his time”.

He said:
“It’s important that he ticks a few off because, like I say, you can see his season.

“I think that’s his first 45 minutes this season. So, we’ve got to be careful that we don’t throw him back in and he gets soft tissue injuries and his season’s over. Obviously, you can see the fitness levels of Lewis, Savage, Liam Fraser.

“So, he’s going to have to just bide his time a little bit. I want him in the team as much as he wants to be in the team. But I’ve got to be mindful of where he’s at, the fitness levels and his injuries, etc.”

Rinomhota returned to the club on a season-long contract in November after spells with Rotherham United and Cardiff City.
