Sports Correspondent – Midfielder Denver Mukamba has secured a fresh start in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after sealing a move to newly promoted side Hunters FC.

Mukamba arrives at Hunters as a free agent following the end of his stint with Dynamos FC. His deal with the Harare giants, signed during the July mid-season transfer window, ran its course at the close of the previous campaign.

The former Warriors playmaker had been linked with a possible return to Scottland FC, amid reports that club owner Scott Sakupwanya was keen on bringing him back into the fold. Sakupwanya also previously had ties with N’ombeyawora.

However, that proposed switch collapsed after Scottland’s new head coach, Norman Mapeza, opted against adding Mukamba to his squad as he reshaped the team ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, changes off the field have also reshaped the local football landscape. N’ombeyawora recently entered into a partnership with Hunters FC, paving the way for businessman Cuthbert Chitima to assume the role of chairman.

Mukamba will now be hoping the move to Hunters offers stability and an opportunity to revive his career in Zimbabwe’s top flight.
