Rick Ross Jets In for A Massive Weekend Gig – Eduzim News

By Showbiz Reporter-American rapper and music executive Rick Ross has arrived in the country ahead of his much-anticipated weekend performance.

Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II in 1976 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, is a Grammy-nominated hip-hop heavyweight known for his deep voice, luxury-rap persona and entrepreneurial ventures. He rose to prominence in 2006 with the hit single Hustlin’, which led to a bidding war among major labels before he signed with Def Jam Recordings. His debut album Port of Miami opened at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, cementing his status in mainstream rap.

Over the years, Ross has released several successful albums, including Trilla, Deeper Than Rap, Teflon Don, and God Forgives, I Don’t. Beyond music, he is the founder of Maybach Music Group (MMG), the label that helped launch the careers of artists such as Meek Mill and Wale. He has also built a business empire spanning real estate and franchise investments, reinforcing his brand as one of hip-hop’s most business-savvy figures.

Ross is set to headline the inaugural Hustle and Heritage show at the Hippodrome on Saturday night. He will share the stage with Nigerian singer and songwriter Omah Lay, known for Afrobeats hits such as Bad Influence and Understand.

The event will also showcase a strong local line-up, including Tamy Moyo, SaintFloew, Takura, Freeman, Shashl and Feli Nandi, among others.

Organisers say the show is expected to draw a large crowd, marking one of the biggest international hip-hop appearances in the country this year.
