Zim players based abroad round-up: Munetsi strikes again as Maswanhise hits brace in Scotland


Marshall Munetsi was once again on target as Paris FC edged OGC Nice 1-0 in the Ligue 1 over the weekend.

Munetsi started the match and played the full 90 minutes, finding the back of the net in the 26th minute to hand his side maximum points.

The Warriors international has now scored two league goals this season, with his first coming the previous weekend as he continues to enjoy a glod spell since arriving in at the club in January.

In Scotland, Tawanda Maswanhise delivered a standout performance for Motherwell F.C. in their 2-0 victory over Dundee F.C. in the Scottish Premiership.

Maswanhise opened the scoring from the penalty spot before adding his second goal in the second half to seal the win. The brace takes his tally to 14 league goals and 21 across all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, Hibernian F.C. defender Munashe Garananga was an unused substitute in his side’s 3-3 draw against Dundee United F.C..

In the English Championship, Sheffield Wednesday F.C. midfielder Marvelous Nakamba returned to the matchday squad after missing last weekend’s action due to a facial injury but remained on the bench. Teammate Sean Fusire is still sidelined through injury.

In League One, Plymouth Argyle F.C.’s Brendan Galloway, Barnsley F.C. midfielder Tawanda Chirewa and Reading F.C.’s Andy Rinomhota are yet to return to action.

Elsewhere in Belgium, winger Bill Antonio featured as a second-half substitute in KV Mechelen’s 2-1 win over Zulte Waregem.

In the United States, defender Teenage Hadebe played the full match as FC Cincinnati fell 1-0 to Minnesota United FC in the Major League Soccer.
