Sports Correspondent – Highlanders FC head coach Benjani Mwaruwari has shared his thoughts on the squad’s readiness ahead of the new Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

Bosso concluded their pre-season campaign with a friendly encounter against Gaborone United in Botswana on Monday.

The Bulawayo giants have been camped in the neighbouring country since last week as part of their build-up to the 2026 campaign.

Speaking to The Herald, Mwaruwari expressed confidence in the progress made during preparations.
“From the look of things I cannot complain, we have worked hard to be in a position where I can safely say we are ready for the challenge ahead. We will work with the players we have and hope for better results,” he said.
Highlanders will kick off their 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season with a clash against Bulawayo Chiefs on Sunday. The fixture will mark Mwaruwari’s first competitive match in charge of Bosso since taking over the reins a month ago.
The former Warriors striker is being assisted by club legends Mkhokheli Dube and Bekithemba Ndlovu as Highlanders set their sights on a strong league campaign.
