Sabhuku Stabs Three People Over Land Dispute
By A Correspondent – A village head in Zaka under Chief Ndanga is currently at large after allegedly attacking three people in connection with ongoing land disputes.
The official is accused of illegally selling land that belongs to neighboring communities.
George Muvavi of Mukambwe Village, is said to have carried out the assaults together with his brother, Tinashe Muvavi last week .
The victims reportedly include two villagers from nearby communities and a local teacher.
One of the victims, Tatenda Tinarwo, remains hospitalised at Masvingo Provincial Hospital. Another victim is a 16-year-old boy who sustained injuries during the attack.
Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu, deputy police spokesperson for Masvingo Province, confirmed that the incidents took place on 14 February 2026.
The cases have been recorded under reference numbers RRB 6705696 and RRB 6705678, with investigations ongoing.
According to police reports, the first attack occurred at Chipato Shopping Centre in Zaka, where Tinashe allegedly stabbed the 16-year-old in the hand. Later that evening, around 9 pm, George allegedly stabbed Tatenda Tinarwo in the chest at Jerera Shopping Centre.
On the same day, a teacher from Muchechetere School was reportedly attacked at Chipato Shopping Centre by George, who allegedly stabbed the educator in the face with a broken bottle

Authorities say the violence is linked to disputes over land the Muvavi family is accused of selling without permission, including property belonging to Tinarwo Village.
The family is also reportedly involved in similar conflicts with Mashanyare Village, some of which have already been brought before the courts.
