Walid Regragui has officially stepped down as the head coach of the Morocco national team.
Regragui led the North African side for four years. His highlights include reaching the World Cup semi-final in 2022 and the 2025 AFCON final.
The rumours began soon after the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in January and were denied by Morocco’s Football Federation just last week.
But the gaffer is said to have handed in his resignation on Wednesday.
Regragui’s departure comes just 98 days before the start of the 2026 World Cup, which Morocco have qualified for.
They are in a group alongside Brazil, Scotland and Haiti.
Meanwhile, Morocco Under-23s boss Mohamed Ouahbi is the favourite to succeed Regragui.
