The 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season will get underway this afternoon at Rufaro Stadium.
Newcomers FC Hunters face MWOS FC at 1500hrs in the season opener.
Hunters are hosting the game in Harare after failing to get Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera approved ahead of the new season.
The newcomers have never played in the top-flight league and were promoted after winning the Eastern Region Division One Championship. Their main target will mainly be focused on surviving instant relegation in their debut top-flight campaign.
MWOS, on the other hand, will be hoping to set an early pace and secure their first title since making their debut in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League last season.
The Punters finished second in that first campaign and are hoping to improve on that finish.
The match will be live on ZTN Prime and ZBC TV.
Meanwhile, Saturday presents a packed schedule of four matches, all kicking off at 1500hrs. Herentals College FC take on Chicken Inn FC at Rufaro Stadium, while Ngezi Platinum Stars FC clash with FC Platinum at Baobab Stadium in a platinum derby. Triangle United FC host ZPC Kariba FC at Gibbo Stadium, and TelOne FC battle Dynamos FC at Ascot Stadium in one of the standout ties of the weekend.
Sunday completes the Matchday One programme with four fixtures.
Hardrock FC will welcome Scottland FC to the new-look Chahwanda Stadium.
CAPS United FC entertain Agama FC at Rufaro Stadium, Manica Diamonds FC meet Simba Bhora FC at Gibbo Stadium, and Highlanders FC square off against Bulawayo Chiefs FC at Barbourfields Stadium in a Bulawayo derby.
