The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 1 continued on Saturday, but the game between TelOne and Dynamos was postponed.
The postponement was due to a waterlogged pitch at Ascot Stadium in Gweru, and the game will now be played on Sunday morning at 10 am.
At Baobab Stadium, Ngezi Platinum registered a 2-1 victory against FC Platinum.
FC Platinum’s Jarison Selemani broke the deadlock as early as the 6th minute. The effort was also the first goal of the new season.
Ngezi restored parity through Marvelous Mukumba’s effort from close range in the 40th minute before he completed his brace in the second half.
The result handed Joel Luphahla his first defeat as the new FC Platinum coach, while Ngezi’s Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva began his tenure with a victory.
At Rufaro Stadium, Herentals and Chicken Inn played out a 1-1 draw in a match played behind closed doors.
No fans were allowed at the game after the PSL sanctioned Herentals last season, and the punishment was carried into the current campaign.
Chicken Inn opened the scoring in the first half through Malawian international Binwell Rahim before Ralph Kawondera equalised for Herentals in the second half.
In the Lowveld, Wayne Kamurai scored the only goal of the match as ZPC Kariba beat Triangle United 1-0.
Saturday Results:
Ngezi Platinum 2-1 FC Platinum
Herentals 1-1 Chicken Inn
Triangle United 0-1 ZPC Kariba
TelOne vs Dynamos (Postponed)
