Mapeza Laments Missed Chances In Draw With Hardrock – Eduzim News

Sports Correspondent – Coach Norman Mapeza has expressed disappointment after Scottland FC failed to convert their chances in a goalless draw against Hardrock FC in their opening match of the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

The Matchday 1 encounter was played at the newly built Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe.

Speaking after the match, Mapeza said his team had several good scoring opportunities but failed to take advantage of them.

“We had some decent opportunities in the game. If we had buried those chances, we could be talking a different story,” he said.

The experienced coach also highlighted the difficult playing conditions, saying the muddy pitch made it harder for the players.

“But the guys worked very hard on a difficult pitch. It was muddy due to the rains, but I’m not taking anything away from the boys, they played so well,” Mapeza added.

Despite the missed opportunities, Mapeza said he was satisfied with the effort shown by his team and is now focusing on the next match.

“I’m more than happy, look how we created the chances. We’re now looking forward to the next match,” he said.
Scottland will now prepare for their next league fixture against Ngezi Platinum Stars next weekend.
