Highlanders coach Benjani Mwaruwari has delivered a huge update on his squad’s preparedness ahead of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday Two encounter against rivals Dynamos F.C. on Sunday.
The match will be played at Rufaro Stadium, with kick-off set for 3 pm CAT.
The game will be the first league instalment of the Battle of Zimbabwe this season.
Speaking ahead of the match, Benjani declared that his charges are all ready and could further receive a boost if Andrew Mbeba’s registration is completed before the game.
“I think we’re all sorted, all twenty-five players, except for Andrew Mbeba but if he is registered early before the game, then he will also be in the squad.
“He has been pushing and working very hard. We know he came in very late but will be with us in the squad.”
Mbeba missed part of the preparations as he was in talks to sign a new contract with Highlanders after his previous deal expired at the end of 2025.
Benjani added: “We also have Zambian international Isaac Ngoma, whom we signed. He is waiting for his work permit and once we receive this, the squad will be all done.”
Meanwhile, both teams have already faced each other in the pre-season during the Jairos Jiri Charity Cup at Barbourfields Stadium, where Highlanders won the match 1-0.
