But Why Did First Lady Visit Alleged Serial Killer In Custody While Case is Still Before Courts?
Fellow Zimbabweans,
I am deeply disturbed by reports that the First Lady visited an alleged serial killer currently in custody while his case is still before the courts. Zimbabwe is a constitutional state, and our justice system must remain independent, impartial, and free from political influence.
When someone is accused of such horrific crimes — crimes that have left families in Guruve mourning their loved ones — our first priority must be justice for the victims and their families, not publicity around the suspect.
The courts must be allowed to do their work without interference, intimidation, or actions that may compromise the fairness of the judicial process. No individual, regardless of their position in society, should appear to place themselves above the justice system.
As the Action Democratic Movement (ADM), we stand firmly for:
Respect for the independence of the judiciary
Justice for the victims and their families
A government that prioritises citizens’ safety and dignity
If leaders wish to show compassion, let them start by visiting the families who lost their loved ones, the children who were orphaned, and the communities still living in fear.
Zimbabwe must be a nation where justice is not influenced by power or political status. The law must apply equally to everyone.
Justice for the victims. Respect for the law. Zimbabwe deserves better.
