The Warriors were held to a draw by Highlanders FC in an exhibition match played at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon.
The friendly encounter, organised as part of Highlanders’ 100-year anniversary celebrations, attracted a lively crowd.
The Warriors XI was composed of fringe players, and coach Marian Marinica handed unofficial debuts to Ipswich Town defender Corbin Mthunzi, Wales-based midfielder Panashe Makwiramiti and Highlanders midfielder Mongameli Tshuma.
Both teams showed attacking intent from the start, but despite chances at both ends, neither side managed to find a decisive breakthrough, and the match ultimately ended in a stalemate.
Zimbabwe national team , who used the match to prepare for the Four-nation tournament in Botswana, will face the hosts on Saturday.
