Injury Blow for Warriors …
Sports Correspondent – Warriors coach Marian Marinica has delivered a concerning update on defender Munashe Garananga following his injury in Zimbabwe’s convincing 3-0 victory over Botswana on Saturday.
Garananga, who started the match, was forced off just 18 minutes into the game after suffering what appeared to be a hamstring injury. He was subsequently replaced by Isheanesu Mauchi at centre-back.
Speaking to ZIFA media, Marinica expressed concern over the defender’s condition, saying, “Unfortunately, Munashe doesn’t look good, we’re still waiting for the medical report, but initial investigations suggest it doesn’t look good.”
The injury is a major setback for the Warriors, with early indications suggesting that the Scotland-based defender is unlikely to feature in the upcoming Mukuru Four-Nation Tournament final against Zambia.
The highly anticipated clash is scheduled to take place at Obed Itani Stadium in Francistown on Tuesday at 6 pm CAT, leaving the Warriors potentially without a key figure in their defensive line.
