Seven Highlanders supporters parish in road accident after attending FC Platinum game

Highlanders have confirmed the death of seven supporters in a road accident on Friday.

The accident happened along Bulawayo-Gwanda highway.

The Bosso fans were coming from Bulawayo after watching their team drew goalless against FC Platinum at Barbourfields.

A statement by the club reads: “Highlanders FC extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the seven supporters who tragically lost their lives on Friday evening.

“The accident occurred along the Bulawayo-Gwanda Road as they were returning from our match against FC Platinum.

“To the bereaved, we offer our sincere prayers, strength, and unwavering support during this incredibly difficult time.

“May you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and in the memories of those we have lost. As a club, we stand with you in grief and solidarity. Their passion and dedication to the Black and White will forever be etched in our history.

“May their souls rest in eternal peace.”

The accident comes at a time Dynamos are consoling their staunch supporter Ronald Mujuru following the death of his entire family in a car accident along Harare-Masvingo last week.

The accident claimed Mujuru’s wife and his five children, who were travelling to Zvishavane.
