Scooby Nero retracts RDP housing claims

Nigerian socialite Scooby Nero has issued a public apology after facing backlash over claims that he owned 80% of South Africa’s RDP houses.

The entertainer, who has lived in South Africa for over a decade, came under fire after a viral video showed him boasting about allegedly collecting rent from locals.

The clip quickly made the rounds online, sparking outrage and widespread debate.

Following the criticism, Scooby Nero shared another video addressing the situation, where he walked back his earlier statements and admitted they were false.

He explained that the remarks were meant as a joke, saying he was “trolling” in response to ongoing online banter.

According to him, he had often been the target of jokes from South Africans on Facebook and decided to retaliate with exaggerated claims.

The content creator, who is married to a South African, acknowledged that his comments were inappropriate and contributed to the tension.

He also mentioned other reasons behind the viral video.

Scooby Nero ended his message by apologising to South Africans and clarifying that he does not own any RDP houses, contrary to his earlier claims.
