Siya Kolisi’s foundation turns 6 years
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has taken a moment to reflect on purpose beyond rugby, marking a major milestone for the Kolisi Foundation he co-founded with his former wife, Rachel Kolisi.
The organisation, which has spent years supporting vulnerable communities across South Africa, recently celebrated its sixth anniversary, prompting Kolisi to look back on its journey and the impact it has made since its launch.
Sharing a message on social media, the rugby star expressed pride in how far the foundation has come, while making it clear that the mission is far from over.
“Today marks the sixth birthday of the Kolisi Foundation. We are still here, we won’t stop, and there is a lot of work to be done. We will continue going forward,” he wrote.
“Thank you so much to all our founders, our partners, and thank you to our implementing partners on the ground. Thank you to the board and thank you to the Kolisi Foundation staff for all the work that you do. We are so grateful for the work that you have done.”
Kolisi also used the moment to acknowledge the role South Africans have played in sustaining the initiative, showing appreciation for the communities and supporters who have stood behind the foundation over the years.
The anniversary arrives at a time of change for the organisation, following Rachel Kolisi’s recent departure as CEO in 2025.
Despite the shift, the foundation continues to grow its footprint, focusing on long-term solutions to social challenges affecting underserved communities.
