Lynn Forbes defends Nadia Nakai after calling AKA a “ghost”

Lynn Forbes reacts to Nadia Nakai calling her late son AKA a ghost

Lynn Forbes has weighed in on the backlash surrounding Nadia Nakai after her controversial remark about AKA sparked outrage online.

Speaking during a recent appearance on L-Tido’s YouTube podcast, Lynn made it clear that she was not offended by Nadia referring to AKA as a ghost.

Instead, she explained that her relationship with Nadia allowed her to understand the remark from a different perspective.

“Nadia and I had a good laugh,” she said.

“You know what the difference is, when you know someone, like how I know Nadz, and we love each other, when you know someone like that you don’t take offence.”

Lynn added that the backlash largely came from people who do not share the same bond with Nadia, saying she understands why outsiders may have taken the statement the wrong way.

The controversy stems from Nadia’s candid response to criticism over moving on with her life following AKA’s death.

After sparking dating rumours with Toss, she addressed the scrutiny head-on, making it clear she refuses to be defined by grief.

“I gained my freedom from this cloud of stigma that keeps me frozen in time as someone’s widow when I was never married to him,” she said.

“You must understand that Kiernan has been gone longer than I was with him when he was alive. I am still Nadia Nakai. I was Nadia Nakai before him, and I will continue to be Nadia Nakai after him.”

While reaffirming her love for AKA, Nadia stressed that she also has to choose herself and her future.

“I love the Megacy, but I also love myself, and I know I cannot spend my life alone. I cannot spend my life loving a ghost. I will always love him. He has a special place in my heart, but I am ready to move on.”
