President Emmerson Mnangagwa Condemns Cowardly Attack on Donald Trump Following Assassination Attempt
Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has issued a letter condemning the recent attack on former United States President Donald Trump.
This comes as Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt on Saturday during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Details of the Assassination Attempt
Donald Trump, who is running for president in the November election, was injured after a shooter attempted to assassinate him.
The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was subsequently killed, fired shots at Trump as he was addressing the crowd at a rally. Donald Trump survived the attack, he was injured on his right ear.
Tragically, one rally attendee sitting behind Trump was killed, and two others were critically injured during the shooting incident.

President Mnangagwa Condemns Attack on Donald Trump
In a letter addressed to the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, President Emmerson Mnangagwa strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
“Your Excellency, Zimbabwe followed the news of the attack on the former United States of America President and presumptive Republican Party Presidential Candidate, Mr. Donald Trump, with shock and revulsion,” reads part of the letter.
Zimbabwe Stands in Solidarity with the United States, President Offers Condolences and Wishes for Recovery
President Mnangagwa conveyed Zimbabwe’s shock and revulsion at the incident, extending heartfelt sympathy to Donald Trump and his family, as well as to the injured and the bereaved families affected by the tragic event.
He further emphasized Zimbabwe’s solidarity with the United States during this challenging time, pledging support and expressing hopes for a speedy recovery for those injured.
“On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to extend to you, my heartfelt sympathy and condemnation of the cowardly attack, which also led to loss of life.
We stand in solidarity with the Government and people of the United States in the wake of this unfortunate and tragic development.
We wish the former President and the others who were injured, speedy recovery, and express our condolences to the family of the deceased.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
