Construction Site Attack Leaves Security Guard Dead in Harare
In a tragic incident at a construction site along Hillside Road Extension in Harare’s Msasa suburb, six construction workers were violently assaulted and robbed by three armed suspects.

Construction Site Attack
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the robbery on X.
According to the police report, the assailants, armed with logs and steel bars, entered the construction site through an unlocked gate.
They proceeded to assault the six construction workers and the security guard, Elliot Mudzingwa, using their weapons. The attack resulted in serious injuries to the victims.
“Three unknown suspects entered the complex through an unlocked gate and attacked six complainants and the security guard, Elliot Mudzingwa (32), with logs and steel bars,” the police revealed.
Robbery and Escape
During the assault, the suspects forcibly took US$95 in cash and confiscated four cell phones from the victims. After completing the robbery, they fled the scene in a getaway vehicle.

Sadly, Elliot Mudzingwa (32), the security guard succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The police have launched an investigation into the case, treating it as both a murder and a robbery.
Police Appeal for Information
In response to the incident, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) issued a public appeal for any information that could aid in apprehending the suspects. They urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and report it to their nearest police station.
“Police are appealing to members of the public who may have any information related to this case to come forward and report it at their nearest police station.”
