The Automobile Association (AA) is advising motorists to keep their vehicles in optimal mechanical condition to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce overall fuel costs.
This recommendation comes as minor fuel price reductions are anticipated across the board for August.
The AA has been analyzing unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF). According to the data, 95 unleaded petrol is expected to decrease by approximately 14 cents per litre, and 93 unleaded petrol by about nine cents per litre. Additionally, diesel prices are projected to drop by around 26 cents per litre.
AA spokesperson Layton Beard emphasized the importance of fuel in the monthly budgets of South Africans. He noted, “The main factors driving the price decreases are a strengthening Rand/US Dollar exchange rate and lower international oil prices. Exchange rate movements have significantly contributed to the downward trend in fuel prices.”
By ensuring their vehicles are well-maintained, motorists can make the most of these fuel price reductions and manage their transportation costs more effectively.
