The Venice Film Festival, the world’s oldest, attracts a glittering, global crowd, but Africa remains woefully underrepresented. Although festival organizers claim a dearth of qualifying product from the continent, skeptics point to a lack of diversity among the judges as another contributing factor. Regardless, a handful of African films will be screened, and include entries from South Africa, Tunisia, Ghana and Egypt.
