Nearly 2,200 police officers have been fired for misconduct — including corruption and fraud — in the last five years.
Police say they’re working to rid the police of rotten apples.
“We are taking seriously the issues of corruption,” said Tebello Mosikili, Deputy Police Commissioner.
Meanwhile, Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu says strategies have been put in place to try and urgently deal with crime in the country.
