Woman Fell from Moving Kombi in Row Over 50-Cent Change
H-Metro reported that the driver, Munyaradzi Mapete, allegedly drove off while Cynthia Guveya was standing by the open door. Witnesses claim the argument over change escalated moments before the vehicle moved. Cynthia fell to the ground, sustaining head and back injuries along with facial bruises.
Passersby rushed to her aid. She also lost her mobile phone during the incident.
Mapete appeared in Chitungwiza Magistrates’ Court, where he was charged with attempted murder. The court remanded him out of custody until December 18 for trial.
According to the State, the altercation began as Guveya waited for her change.
“Cynthia was standing near the door, which was open, when Mapete put the kombi into motion, and she fell out of the moving car,” the prosecution detailed.
Good Samaritans assisted Cynthia and ensured she received medical attention, and helped her open a case with the police.
