The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 PM, according to Midlands Province police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, who confirmed the fatal accident.

Preliminary investigations revealed that both the motorcycle and the donkey-drawn cart were speeding at the time of the collision. The cart, which lacked proper illumination or warning signals, became a hazard in the dark.
Mr. Sunday, who was riding home, suffered serious head injuries as a result of the impact and died at the scene near Mlondiwa Homestead.

“The people who were driving the scotch cart disappeared from the scene, leaving the cart and the animals,” said Inspector Mahoko.
