ZAOGA Bosses In Shocking Scandals
By Religion Reporter- Top executives within ZAOGA FIF (Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa), the Pentecostal church founded by Ezekiel Guti, are being accused of selling leadership positions and fostering a culture of corruption and exploitation.
An ongoing investigation by ZimEye has revealed that since 2017, aspiring Overseers reportedly pay $1,000 for their positions, while promotions to District Pastor allegedly cost $500.
Sources familiar with the situation describe a troubling shift from merit-based appointments to a system driven by bribes and favouritism, prompting disillusioned pastors to leave the church in frustration.
The scandal has cast a spotlight on ZAOGA’s Transferring Board, which plays a pivotal role in leadership assignments.
Allegations suggest that some senior pastors exploit their authority, engaging in predatory behaviour toward pastors’ wives in exchange for lucrative transfers or promotions.
One such case involves a pastor recently assigned to the UK after his wife was allegedly coerced into compliance by a senior leader.
Insiders claim these issues are not new but reflect a deep-seated culture of corruption within ZAOGA’s hierarchy.
Past attempts to address immorality and abuse have reportedly been stifled, leading to mounting dissatisfaction among congregants and church officials alike.
The revelations have reignited longstanding concerns about the church’s moral integrity, with many calling for an overhaul of its leadership.
ZimEye’s year-long investigation is set to reveal further hidden cases of exploitation, casting an even harsher light on the top leadership’s misconduct.
Our efforts to get an official comment from church executives were fruitless as they were not reachable.
