
Scottland FC have opened a six-point lead at the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table after edging rivals MWOS 1-0 on Matchday 31, Saturday.
Mabviravira now sit on 62 points, six clear of second-placed Simba Bhora.
Knowledge Musona scored the decisive goal in the 14th minute after linking up neatly with his brother Walter Musona, who provided the assist.
MWOS thought they had found an equaliser late in the first half, but Billy Vheremu’s effort was ruled out for offside.
At Baobab Stadium, Simba Bhora lost ground in the title race after falling 2-1 to Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Simba took the lead in the 42nd minute through Isaskar Guribab following a defensive mix-up, but Nisbert Muzenda levelled the scores for Ngezi before Farai Madhananga netted the winner in the 80th minute.
The victory lifted Ngezi to 54 points, though they remain in fourth place.
Elsewhere, FC Platinum suffered a 1-0 defeat to TelOne, courtesy of an 18th-minute strike from Panashe Mutasa.
Greenfuel recorded the biggest win of the weekend, thrashing Kwekwe United 5-0, while the clash between Yadah and ZPC Kariba ended in a 1-1 draw.
