Mighty Warriors captain Msipa settles well in DRC

Mighty Warriors captain Emmaculate Msipa says she is settling well at the Democratic Republic of Congo- side, TP Mazembe.

Msipa who joined the defending CAF Women’s Champions League champions a few months back, admitted that the first few weeks were challenging.

“The first few weeks were tough as I tried to adjust to the climate, the language, and a new team dynamic,” Msipa told Soccer24.

“But I’m now settling in well, and being surrounded by fellow Africans has made the transition much easier. It already feels like home.”

TP Mazembe have won the DRC women’s league title for three consecutive seasons, since 2022.

She added that playing for one of Africa’s biggest clubs has been a long-term dream.

“I’m truly happy to be back in Africa. One of my personal goals was to play in one of the top African leagues, and I’m grateful that God has made it possible.

“And its not just with any team, but with one of the biggest clubs I had always envisioned.

“It’s an exciting chapter in my career, and I’m looking forward to giving my best,” she said.

The former Black Rhinos player said joining Mazembe comes with expectations, but she welcomes the challenge.

“Pressure means you are in a place where great things are expected, and that motivates me to perform at my best,” Msipa said.

Her move also gives her the chance to compete in both the CAF Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, platforms she believes will help her take the next step in her career.

“By the end of the season, I hope to help TP Mazembe win silverware and compete strongly in CAF competitions,” she said.

Msipa has previously played for Joventut Almassora in Spain, Fatih Karagümrük in Turkey, and nost recent, Ironi Ramat HaSharon in Israel.
