Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Nqobile Magwizi has confirmed when the new Warriors coach will be announced.
ZIFA are currently searching for a new head coach following the dismissal of Michael Nees last week after a string of poor results. Nees was fired just over a year into his tenure.
Speaking on Soccer Africa on SuperSport TV, Magwizi revealed that the appointment is expected to be made next week, in time for the Warriors’ preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals, which are just over six weeks away.
“The process of appointing a coach is at an advanced stage,” he said. “I think by Monday or Tuesday next week, we should be in a position to make an announcement.”
The ZIFA boss added: “The technical committee is finalising a shortlist of candidates, and I’m confident that next week we will announce a new coach to lead our boys.”
