Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) President Nqobile Magwizi has provided an update on the country’s preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Warriors are set to take part in the tournament, which kicks off in just over six weeks’ time in Morocco.
According to Magwizi, the ZIFA Executive Committee and other key stakeholders are working tirelessly to ensure the national team is well prepared for the 2025 AFCON finals.
“We are going to Morocco, and of course, we are preparing to put our best foot forward come December,” Magwizi said on SuperSport TV.
“There are a number of areas we are focusing on as a new administration to ensure we have a solid technical team that can support the players and help us achieve respectable results.”
ZIFA is also in the process of appointing a new Warriors coach following the dismissal of Michael Nees last week.
The new coach is expected to be named in the coming week, well ahead of the international friendlies against World Cup-bound sides Qatar and Algeria during the November window.
