Scottland FC coach Tonderai Ndiraya has attributed his team’s success in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League to strong leadership, strategic investment, and thorough preparation.
Scottland FC are the 2025 PSL champions.
They were crowned yesterday after their 5-1 win over Kwekwe United with two games to spare in the league.
In a post match interview, Ndiraya paid homage to the club’s president, Honourable MP Scott Sakupwananya, for his role in recruiting quality players and providing financial support.
“…But in particular, I want to give credit to the club president, the honourable MP himself, Scott Sakupwanya, for taking a bold decision to invest in football, not just in football, investing in quality players that have taken us that far. So I want to give him all the praise, because he’s the leader of the ship, because technically I am the head, but he’s the leader, he’s the owner of the team.” Ndiraya said.
He also praised club chairman Tonderai Sakupwanya and the executive committee for providing stable management and supporting the team through early-season challenges.
“Management gave us confidence, and in the end, we won the cup,” Ndiraya added.
Scottland had an intensive pre-season program that included training camps in Harare, Kariba, and Zambia.
Ndiraya described the pre-season as “probably the best among the Premier League teams.”
