Prince Kaybee frowns at Andile Mpisane’s new DJ career
Prince Kaybee has weighed in on Andile Mpisane’s latest venture into DJing.
Andile, who is well-known for juggling multiple careers and his famous family background, has now added “DJ” to his growing list of titles.
The 24-year-old, who’s also a musician and football player, recently trended after Musa Khawula shared a clip of him performing a DJ set at an event.
Khawula captioned the post: “Father of four; Andile Mpisane (24) launches his new career as a DJ.”
The video sparked widespread reaction online, including from music producer and DJ Prince Kaybee, who expressed disappointment at what he sees as a lack of respect for the craft.
He wrote: “I repeat, music is the most disrespected art in modern times.”
Kaybee’s comment ignited debate among X users.
Some accused him of feeling threatened, while others agreed with his take.
One user replied: “We know you’re afraid of the youngster. He’s serious competition.”
Another added: “Music and acting, so many untalented people are flooding these industries, especially TikTokers.”
However, not everyone sided with Kaybee.
One fan argued: “Let’s not gatekeep anything that seems to take every black child out of poverty, please. There’s enough pie for all of us.”
Another echoed: “I’m afraid I need to agree… no one who’s not funny can wake up tomorrow and decide to do stand-up comedy.”
