Algeria’s key man Bensebaini to miss Warriors clash

Algeria’s Borussia Dortmund defender Ramy Bensebaini will miss the upcoming friendly match against Zimbabwe.

The experienced defender is sidelined with lower back pain and will also be unavailable for Algeria’s second friendly against Saudi Arabia.

A statement from the Algerian Football Federation read:

“Due to suffering from lower back pain, defender Ramy Bensebaini will be unable to take part in the two friendly matches that the national team will play against Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia on 13 and 18 November.

“After coordination with his club, Borussia Dortmund, and consultation with the national team’s medical staff, coach Vladimir Petković decided to exempt the player from travelling to Jeddah to avoid any complications and to ensure his full recovery.”

The Warriors’ clash with Algeria will be played at a neutral venue in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 13 November, with kick-off scheduled for 6:30 pm CAT.
