PSL calls for an EGM to discuss league expansion

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has called for an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to be held on Wednesday next week to deliberate on the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)’s proposal to increase the number of top-flight clubs from 18 to 20 for the 2026 season.

In a notice to all board of governors dated November 11, PSL said the meeting will be held virtually and will also discuss the proposed establishment of a National First Division, which is expected to serve as a bridge between the PSL and regional leagues.

“Notice in hereby given that the Premier Soccer League Board of Governors Extra Ordinary General Meeting shall be held virtually on Wednesday 19 November 2025 at 1430hra. The relevant meeting link and documentation where applicable will be shared in due course,” PSL said.
