Warriors coach Marian Marinaca has made an open admission about missing several key players ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Group B opener against Egypt on Monday night.

The national team will be without stars such as vice-captain Marshall Munetsi, Jordan Zemura, Walter Musona, Tymon Machope and Khama Billiat, who were all omitted due to injuries, while Andy Rinomhota withdrew from the squad due to a family issue.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Sunday, Marinaca admitted his side is in a difficult situation due to the absent players, but will try to get a result against the Pharaohs.

He said: “It will be a tough game because we are facing a big team. The situation is very difficult. We are missing seven players due to injury.”

The coach added: “Salah and Marmoush are big names, but we are not worried. If we were, it would be better to stay at home. We are not thinking about individuals, but about the opponent as a team.”

The match will be played at the 45,000-seater Grand Stade d’Agadir, located in the coastal city of Agadir near the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Kick-off is at 10 pm CAT.
