Warriors forward Knowledge Musona said it is very important to win their first game against Egypt.
Zimbabwe play former champions in their opening Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match at 10pm tomorrow (22 December) at Adrar Stadium, Agadir, Morocco.
And speaking ahead of the clash, Musona said, “We have been watching Egypt for quite some time, and it’s not our first time playing against them. We have been preparing very well for this first game.
“A win or a draw can change everything in a tournament. It’s important for us to collect points so we can put ourselves in a good position going into the next game,” he said.
Musona also understands that Egypt, one of Africa’s most successful teams, presents a tough challenge, but he said they will approach the match with caution.
“It’s a tough game against one of the best teams in Africa, so we have to be careful. We also have to try our best to get a result because we are not here to get numbers; we are here to compete,” he said.
