Warriors coach Marian Marinaca has lamented missed chances in the second half of the Group B match against Angola at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Friday.

The national team played to a 1–1 draw, with Knowledge Musona scoring in stoppage time at the end of the first half to cancel out Gelson Dala’s 24th-minute opener.

In the second half, Musona, Prince Dube, Jonah Fabisch, and substitutes Tawanda Chirewa and Ishmael Wadi all had clear chances to put Zimbabwe ahead but failed to find the back of the net.

Speaking after the match, Marinaca said his team should have won if they had utilised their opportunities in the second half.

Here are the corrected quotes only, with grammar and flow improved, while keeping meaning and content the same:

“It feels like two points dropped because we had several chances towards the end that could have finished the game,” the gaffer said. “Wadi had a big opportunity that had the potential to make a difference.”

Marinaca added: “We came from behind against a very good side and picked up a point, but we now need to win our last Group B game to stand a chance of reaching the knockout stage.”

Zimbabwe will face South Africa on Monday, 29 December, at Stade de Marrakech. Kick-off is at 6 pm CAT.
