Warriors coach Marian Marinica has commented on his charges’ mistakes that cost the team in their 3-2 loss against South Africa on Monday.

The national team suffered the defeat to finish at the bottom of Group B at AFCON and exit the tournament.

Zimbabwe conceded all three goals from mistakes, with Divine Lunga giving the ball away for the first two goals, while captain Marvelous Nakamba handled the ball while trying to clear it, affording Bafana Bafana to score from a penalty.

Speaking after the match, Marinica admitted the mistakes but refused to blame anyone.

“The decision is sometimes tricky and this leads to making mistakes and the recovery might come slower, “he said.

“People make mistakes, you want to cross the road and sometimes you stumble. What’s important hardworking, determination and make your country proud.”

Meanwhile, the result put South Africa second as they qualified for the Round of 16 together with leaders Egypt, while Angola finished third.
