Ngezi Platinum Stars have moved to reshape their backroom staff after assembling a new technical team, with highly rated young coach Clifford Dzvairo landing a role at the former Premier Soccer League champions.

The new Madamburo technical team will be led by Kumbirai Mutiwekuziwa, with Dzvairo joining him as assistant coach as the club prepares for a transitional season. The changes come in the wake of the departure of Takesure Chiragwi, who left Ngezi to join CAPS United at the end of the campaign.

Dzvairo arrives with a growing reputation after guiding Hunters FC to the 2025 Eastern Region Soccer League title and securing promotion to the Premier Soccer League. The 27-year-old parted ways with the club shortly after their promotion and will now cut his teeth in the PSL with Ngezi.

Mutiwekuziwa, who replaces Chiragwi at the helm, is no stranger to the club, having previously worked within Ngezi’s technical structures.

The new technical team will face an uphill task to rebuild the squad after the club lost more than five key players, who followed Chiragwi to CAPS United.

The situation is compounded by Ngezi’s inability to register new players, as the club is currently serving a players’ registration ban imposed by FIFA. As a result, they will rely on promoting players from their developmental side, which competes in the Northern Region Soccer League.
