Zimbabwe referee Brighton Chimene’s officiating journey at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has come to an end.
Chimene officiated his last match at the tournament last week, a quarterfinal clash between Senegal and Mali, where he served as the VAR official.
He will not officiate again at the tournament after CAF announced the list of referees for the semifinals, which did not include him.
Chimene was the only Zimbabwean referee at the 2025 AFCON.
