Zimbabwean youngster Matthew Mparaganda has signed a new contract at Dutch Eredivisie giants Feyenoord.
Mparaganda has extended his stay with two more years, keeping him at the club until mid-2028.
Speaking after signing the new deal, the 17-year-old Warriors prospect told Feyenoord media: “I’ve been playing at Feyenoord for quite some time now and have been able to develop step by step into the player I am today.
“The club has invested a lot in me and always given me the confidence to improve. I still feel that confidence. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given here and look forward to continuing my development.”
Mparaganda has been playing for the Feyenoord Academy since the summer of 2018. The left-footed wing-back has progressed through the entire youth academy at Varkenoord since then. This season, he is part of the Feyenoord Under-19 squad, which is managed by Davey van den Berg.
The defender qualifies to play for Zimbabwe through his parents who are from the country.
