Danny Phiri has found a new career path after hanging up his boots.

The 36-year-old retired from playing football at the end of the 2025 season, having last turned out for Southern Region Division One side Gwanda Pirates.

Following his retirement, Phiri has moved into coaching and returned to his former club, Chicken Inn. The former Warriors midfielder has been appointed assistant coach of the club’s development team.

Former Gamecocks defender Guide Goddard will lead the technical team as head coach, while another former club player, Ben Nyahunzvi, has also been appointed as an assistant coach.
