Tawanda Chirewa has explained the reason behind his exit from EPL side Wolves to Barnsley.

Chirewa moved to the English League One side on a six-month loan deal.

He had made two senior appearances since his promotion to the senior squad this season.

Speaking in an interview with Barnsley following his unveiling on Friday, the winger said:

“I’m at a stage of my career right now where I have got a point to prove. I need to show what I can do and really impact games. The manager, when I spoke to him, was on the same wavelength, and he sold me amazing ideas of how this club wants to go in these next couple of months.

“Watching them play, the bravery they show is something which I want to show — bravery to go and impact games and win some football games in this league.”

Chirewa took part in the team’s training session on Friday and is expected to make the squad for the League One encounter against Stevenage on Saturday evening.
