Phillip Thosa, popularly known as Brother Enigma, has found himself at the centre of a growing controversy after a woman claiming to be his lover accused him of misconduct and threatened to release compromising videos and messages involving the well-known missionary.
The woman alleges that she was in a relationship with the 55-year-old for more than a year and claims he took her virginity after promising to marry her.
She further accused him of being unfaithful, saying she later discovered he was allegedly involved with several other women.
According to her, she is in possession of videos and chats that back up her claims and is prepared to make them public.
Brother Enigma has since broken his silence, strongly disputing parts of the accusations while admitting that he was involved with the woman.
He insisted their relationship was much shorter than alleged and said he had genuine intentions.
“I have known her for five months. She works Monday to Sunday and gets time off for a month. On her off day, she visited our church, and this is when she caught my attention,” he explained.
He also dismissed reports about her age, clarifying that she is older than what has been circulating online.
“She is 29 years old and turning 30 years old, and not 24 as reports have indicated. She was beautiful, and I fell in love because she speaks SeSotho,” he said.
Addressing the public backlash, the outspoken Christian maintained that his feelings were sincere despite their 22-year age difference.
“I love her. I was smitten. I am not a child; I don’t need to explain myself. I fell in love with her, and that is the long and short of it.”
